Warming up for the winter with Cozyology

Filed in: Uncategorized

Every year when winter creeps in, our bedroom becomes the place we crave most; a space to unwind, recharge, and escape the cold Michigan air. But this year something felt… unfinished. The room is bright and airy which we love, but it lacked the warmth and coziness that winter practically begs for. That’s when we decided it was time to bring in a little seasonal softness, and Cozyology’s Cloud Cotton Lightweight Pleated Drapery in Chocolate Brown turned out to be the exact finishing touch we didn’t know we needed.

If you peek at the before photos, the room felt spacious and light, but also a bit sparse in the winter months when the leaves have fallen and everything outside is as white as the inside. Adding drapery completely transformed the space. The chocolate-brown cloud cotton fabric instantly added depth and warmth, grounding the room without making it feel heavy. It’s that perfect blend of cozy and sophisticated. It’s soft enough to feel inviting, but structured enough to look intentional and polished.

One of my favorite parts of working with Cozyology was how thoughtful their details are. The fabric itself is incredibly high-quality with a subtle linen texture that looks custom, and the pleats fall so beautifully. These came with adjustable hanging hooks, making install unbelievably easy. You can tweak the height to get the perfect “just kissing the floor” look. No puddling, no awkward hovering, and the hooks come in the finish of your choice, so everything looks cohesive right down to the hardware.

We also opted for partially blackout lining, which has been amazing for winter mornings. Cozyology offers several custom backing options, allowing you to choose how transparent you want your curtains to be. A heavier blackout can not only help with better sleep, but even adds extra insulation during these freezing midwest winters. Between the weight of the fabric and the lining, the bedroom stays noticeably warmer and so much cozier. And if chocolate brown isn’t your color, they have tons of options. Truly every room, style, and mood could find a match. I spent way too long scrolling swatches because they were all so good.

The transformation has been exactly what we hoped for: warm, inviting, and layered without having to change anything else in the room. It’s a reminder that sometimes the simplest upgrade makes the biggest impact. Check out some before and after photos below!

Winter coziness: achieved. Thank you, Cozyology. ✨
