We take long drives on Sundays and dream about renovating homes near us that look abandoned and in need of love. We saw ours sitting vacant, knew one of the neighbors and they connected us with the owner!

How did you buy the farm if it wasn't for sale?

Q:

We started sharing our renovation on Instagram @afterhoursfarm with our family - but it quickly gained traction and we had a handful of production companies reach out for show opportunities!

How did you get on HGTV?!

Q:

Not just "flipping" a space, but reinventing it in a way for it to have the best possible function. We love trying to make things fresh and new, but keep as much of the original charm as possible.

A:

What is your favorite part about renovations?

Q:

We originally wanted to repair the old basement made out of Michigan field stone. After starting work and seeing how bad of shape it was really in, the cost to put in a new basement vs. repair was almost even so we opted for the better long-term option.

Why did you lift and move the house?

Q:

Sam has a degree in design, but owns a photography company. Sean has a degree in architecture and works in the construction industry. We work full time and renovate after hours - see what we did there?

What do you both do for work? House flipping?

Q:

We've seen so many beautiful old homes be ripped down, we've always wanted the chance to save one.

A:

What made you want this house if it needed so much work?

Q:

We would love to save another old home from being knocked down, or help someone else do the same. A lake house renovation has always been a dream!
